Personal Description:

I аm а native French tutоr, translator and coach with greаt experience at all levels and with excellent track record, nearly all my students achieving 8-9 (A-A*). I have enjoyed working exclusively from word of mouth recommendations, seeing many of my students through their whole secondary school cycle and helping adults learn realistic, practical French in a fun and creative way.

In my 23 years in the UK, I have also worked in various multi-lingual roles doing marketing, translation and multi-region B2B business development for major companies.

I have 3 children (now all grown adults) who have been through the British education system (one of them currently a secondary school French teacher, it runs in the family!).

Teaching Experience:

I studied modern fоreign lаnguаges, including teаching French аs а fоreign lаnguаge in France before moving to the UK in 1997. I have been teaching and tutoring many pupils aged 10-18 as well as adult learners since 2009, rapidly working from word of mouth recommendation only. In that time, I have prepared pupils for school entry examinations and taught home-schooled students ahead of their GCSE, iGCSE and A-Levels examination, delivering part of the examination myself when required.

Teaching Approach:

I have a patient and encouraging attitude, which helps my students feel relaxed and confident. I structure my individual programs around realistic goals so that they know what they have to learn in order to achieve their target level. I also understand the importance of individual learning styles in my practice as well as humour (because a relaxed mind learns better).

I undertook a 9-months coaching training at CTI in 2018, which I incorporated in my teaching to help get over the usual learning blocks with gentle, positive reinforcement.
