Personal Description:
I am French and have lived in Bristol for many years, where I have raised three bilingual children. I love supporting learners to develop their language skills, along with their knowledge and understanding of French culture.
I am fluent in English: I am good at understanding how British people learn French.
Teaching Experience:
I currently teach languages in diverse contexts: for example, industry and adult and community education. I have extensive experience of one-to-one teaching. I have also taught people of all ages, across a range of settings, from nursery to secondary schools and university. I am a graduate and a qualified language teacher, having completed my PGCE in Bristol.
I am presently teaching online using Skype or Zoom.
Teaching Approach:
I plan my teaching around each individual’s personal strengths and the areas with which they struggle. I can provide suitable resources and advise on learning tools but I am also happy to use methods that people are the most comfortable with. I am very experienced at adapting to people's individual learning styles. I believe in giving students confidence and take as my starting point what learners already know, ensuring that each session is enjoyable and designed to help them to progress.

After a very clear introductory session, she understands what it is that I need to learn and practise. Our largely conversation-style classes are both challenging and rewarding. The vocabulary and grammar topics we cover are useful, well presented and nicely paced. I feel I've made substantial progress over a short period of time.

From Dominie (/5): Eve is a very lovely lady, relaxed and approachable, and I have found that her lessons fly by! I wanted to find a teacher with experience, and Eve's experience shows as she is able to shape the lessons as you go, basing them on your current level, and facilitate anything you wish to learn about. She makes all of the learning relevant to you personally, making it engaging and instantly useful. She also told us about some of the history and context of the French language which was very interesting. I went to her with a friend, both of us adult learners, because we wanted to develop our French speaking and it has been great. Eve is very encouraging and will gently push you to keep improving all the time. I highly recommend her as a French teacher!
