Information About Emma - Winchester teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced assistant teacher at a secondary school with a French degree and PGCE in Modern Languages and have taught French, German and also English as a Foreign Language, to GCSE and A level from age 11-18. I regularly travel to German and speak both French and German fluently and am passionate about the culture and history of both countries! I have lived in Paris, Basel and Cologne. I have two boys (Will 20, Joe 16), Will is at Sheffield Uni and Joe lives at home.

Teaching Experience:

PGCE qualified to teach Modern Languages, I am experienced in teaching groups of adults (French), and one-to-one tuition in French and German to GCSE level. I have also taught English as a Foreign Language in a local language school.

Recently employed as a Tutor on the Pre-sessional course at Southampton University teaching academic English to foreign students, I'm tutoring secondary students in French and German.

Teaching Approach:

I offer an interactive approach to language teaching, engaging the student in plenty of conversational activities to reinforce the target language as well as written, reading and listening assignments. Flexible to needs of the student, help with homework and French / German oral practice, revision for GCSE curriculum.
