Personal Description:

Educated locally at Hele's School in Exeter and then at Oxford where I studied Modern Languages and later trained professionally as a teacher, I have been able to keep at the forefront of developments in Languages teaching.
Teaching Experience:
I have a wealth of experience of teaching Modern Langauges over the past 30 years to students of all ages and abilities in a variety of educational establishments and more recently have tutored privately on a one to one basis.
My clients include those wishing to learn for fun/holidays, those studying for examinations ( GCSE, A/S level, A level, IB, and undergraduate and postgraduate students),people wishing to be able to use a foreign language for business purposes and those who wish to relocate abroad.
I have been a Head of Modern Langauges department and examiner for GCSE and A level and so am fully up to date with the current requirements of all the exam. boards and can help you with the best way to get the maximum result from your knowledge.
Teaching Approach:
I believe that anyone can learn a language given the right teacher.
I tailor the sessions to suit your individual requirements whether you want to learn for business, pleasure, travel, examinations… or just for fun!
A FREE no- obligation personal introductory session ( held usually in Exeter) allows us to look together at your particular requirements and to plan your success in language learning.This allows you to discuss what your exact needs are and lets me show you how I can go about helping you to achieve your goals.
I also strongly recommend that you contact a couple of my former and current students( all are happy for me to let you have their contact details) and have an informal chat with them before coming to a final decision. It's quite easy to match you up with someone who has either had or is currently having from me the kind of tuition you are looking for.You can then ask them how they got on or are getting on.
