Personal Description:
My name is Barbara and I am a native Italian from Rome, with a wealth of experience in teaching and a passion for languages. I can cater for all levels and would be able to offer tuition locally in the Portsmouth and adjacent areas (within south of Hampshire and West Sussex, UK) or anywhere else via online platforms as Zoom, Skype etc.
Teaching Experience:
My programme is individually designed based on the student's needs, interests and weaknesses. I can provide private tuition either in my house or at the student's home or office. I have been teaching Italian since 2006 and I have helped many people to achieve a confident level to be able to spend their holiday's in Italy, or impress their own Italian customers / business partners at work, or for whatever other reason would have made them to want to learn Italian.
Teaching Approach:
My passion for teaching and for foreign languages shows in the way I structure my lessons. Although I am a strong believer in grammar, which has a big part in my lessons, the fun doesn't suffer from it. In fact I also find the time for plenty of conversation, listening and reading, all depending on what the student needs / wants the most.

Had just one lesson to date and it was an absolute joy, I picked up an awfull lot considering a large portion of this first lesson was taken up with admin and discussing my aims and her approach.
Highly recomended
The sessions are fun and tailored to my objectives. Material is always underpinned by an explanation of the underlying grammar, essential to place everything in a contextual framework and to reinforce deep learning.
I always look forward to my sessions.
