Personal Description:

My name is Anitra and I am a qualified and experienced teacher from Bergen, Norway. I was born in New York to an American-Italian father and a Norwegian mother. I grew up bilingual with English and Norwegian as my two languages. I got my degree (Bachelor's + PGCE) in Bergen and I have six years experience teaching English, Psychology and Sociology at one of Norway's best Upper Secondary schools. The school is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) school and the students come from a range of different cultures and backgrounds.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years experience teaching Upper Secondary and nine years experience teaching adults in adult education. In Norway I taught mainly English and Psychology but here in England I’ve been teaching Norwegian to adults at a college in London. I also have 8 students (private one-to-one tuition) I teach online via Skype.

Teaching Approach:

When I teach I try to make my students feel relaxed and confident in what we are doing. It’s important to take baby steps in order to get a sense of accomplishment but also challenge in order to go far.
