Information About Yuri - Gullane teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Yuri:
I studied traditional hand tool woodworking techniques since I was 16. From restoration and conservation to design and making new pieces of furniture. I completed my 6 year apprenticeship in Russia, Moscow, went to West Dean College, Chichester and finished my Master Degree in Restoration and Conservation of Fine Antique Furniture at BACS University in High Wycombe UK. Gained master in gilding in Belgium for completing 5 year traditional water gilding project.
I provide one-to-one courses, programmes and lessons in woodworking and related decorative techniques such as marquetry, wood carving, hand polishing, gilding and silvering, fine joinery, fret work, wood turning etc. Courses for professionals, people with interest and beginners, also tech how to run own business in woodworking industry on every day basis. Since 2012 I thought (some still continue 2 and 3 year programmes to gain more experience in depth) more then a handful individuals from different backgrounds and different set of skills.
I see teaching process more like a guidance and assistance rather than a strict routine. Of course discipline is a must and woodworking has a very methodical pattern. I do not see age, background, experience or profession as a barrier. I see differences as an important advantage in every individual. Every one has a talent for something. If you passionate about wood I will help you to find the way into extraordinary world of woodworking.
