Information About Victoria - Caerphilly teacher
I am a friendly and enthusiastic teacher with three and a half years teaching experience. I have a keen interest in creative writing and have had poetry published in various magazines. I was shirtlisted for the 2006 Mslexia Womens' Poetry Competition and was a prize winner in the 2005 Rhys Davies Short Story Competition. I am currently seeking agency representation for my first novel.
I have worked as a full time teacher of English and Drama in two South Wales comprehensive schools. I have taught English literature and language at Key Stages three and four, as well as at A level. I have taught Drama at Key Stage three. I work as a personal tutor for a student in Pontypridd, who I tutored through GCSE English literature and language and I am now working with as she prepares to sit her final A Level English exams this summer.
My lessons are very structured, with clear targets as to what I expect to be achieved by students within specific time deadlines. I am friendly and approachable and willing to offer extra assistance via e-mail, which I do with my current student. Tasks and activities within lessons are easy-to-follow and I plan my outcomes and teaching approaches to suit the needs and requirements of the individual student I am working with. I am flexible in terms of working hours and will therefore plan my schedule around the needs of the student.
