Highly motivated Professional Practitioner fully dedicated to the development and enrichment of teaching and learning within the Industry.
I have a wide range of experience in the profession of acting, from working with the Associate Director of the National Theatre Paul Robinson, on Shakespeare’s 'The Winter’s Tale'. With Jim Cartwright at The **Contact Detail Removed** Theatre on his World Premiere of 'Cartwright Follies', to working freelance as a writer and director and touring two plays ‘Close to the Knuckle’ (2004) and ‘Till something better comes along’ (2006) both finishing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with critical success.
Most of my professional work has been in the Theatre, however I have worked for two Film Production Companies as an Actor on 'The Dress' (Cannes Film Festival 2007) and as a Director for Rallyscene Productions.
With over 7 years experience as a teacher I have a sound understanding of the Edexcel curriculum from level 2 through to level 3. Furthermore, I have three years experience teaching Foundation Degree Drama, level 4 and 5. I currently teach at Sheffield College, but I have taught Freelance at Sheffield Hallam University and Arden Theatre School, Manchester.
With experience teaching at all levels, from beginner to professional, I have a sound understanding of individual learner needs and can adapt to achieve success.
Recent Ofsted report (2010) with current employer, graded an observation of my teaching and learning as ‘Outstanding’ (1). Quoting ‘excellence and enthusiasm throughout’. With five years of teaching Drama and being able to utilise my professional background, I feel I have what it takes to enhance learning both conventionally as well as implementing technology for advanced learning.
