Personal Description:
I am a writer and poet, born in Cardiff but currently living in Edinburgh. In 2021 I was awarded a New Writers Award from Scottish Book Trust. empire of dirt, my debut poetry pamphlet, a Poetry Book Society selection, was published by Red Squirrel Press in 2019. Based on a true story, my second poetry pamphlet, will be published in 2022 by Fourteen Publishing. I was highly commended in the Verve 2020 Poetry Competition and I was a writer in residence at Arteles, Finland.
My work has been featured at Poetry Wales, Butcher’s Dog, fourteen poems, The Amsterdam Quarterly, And Other Poems, The Glasgow Review of Books, The Stockholm Review of Literature, among others. My poems have been published in anthologies ‘Working in Crisis’ (Polari Press, 2021), ‘We’ve Done Nothing Wrong, We’ve Nothing To Hide’ (Verve Poetry Press, 2020), Best Scottish Poems of 2019 (selected by Scottish Book Trust) and have been performed at St. Fagan's Museum and Warwick Arts Museum.
I have performed my work in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff and Brussels, at speak easys and festivals. I also host a series of poetry readings at Lovecrumbs café called, Lovecrumbs Readings.
Teaching Experience:
10+ years as a published writer and poet.
2+ years working as a creative writing tutor. (I was a Teacher's Assistant at Yale University and MacMillan Charity.)
4 + years working as an English teacher.
5+ years working as a freelance writer and editor for a variety of publications.
CETA qualified.
5+ years working as a barista which has helped me engage with the creative side of Edinburgh and extend connections.
Experience training students for the IELTS and TOEIC test.
Experience teaching students creatively and academically.
Experience working one-to-one with students.
Experience working as an English Literature tutor.
As a writer I have personal experience with the written world in addition to the world of publishing.

The best way for me to help you is to find out what you want. Only then can we create a study path full of inspiration and experimentation. I am happy to work with you on your project (whether that be a poetry collection, novel, short story, etc) a provide edits. I am also more than excited to provide a space for you to expand your writing skills and become more confident.
