Information About Tarun - Maidenhead teacher

Personal Description:

I have played Chess competitively since the age of 8, representing the county of Berkshire for over 6 years. I've competed in the Megafinals, Gigafinals and ECF Championships. I tutor a range of students from different age groups, from 6 years old up to 60 years old. I only tutor in person, as I believe that it's very important to learn face to face. Teaching Experience:

I've taught Chess for over 6 years, which has equipped me with the necessary skillset to focus on making lessons enjoyable yet informed. Each student is different, and I pride myself on catering to each persons needs to get the most out of our lessons.

Teaching Approach:

I'm a big believer in face to face lessons, as I think it's the key to good quality learning. I've found that in person learning is a lot more successful in demonstrating ideas and understanding. That's why I do offer online lessons too but only later on in the process. However, it's key for me for lessons to in person as much as possible.

I also believe that in order to achieve good quality learning, students play as much as possible. It's like an elite level pianist needs to be sat at the piano as much as possible. The same goes for chess. Therefore, we'll be focused on game's in our lessons and learning by doing instead of watching.
