Personal Description:

Hi there,

I'm Sallie, a 35 year old illustrator with art studios in both Stafford and Newport, Shropshire. Alongside creating personalised watercolour paintings, I am a private art tutor.

My tuition is great for children and teenagers who need extra assistance alongside their school art lessons, I’ve taught privately for a decade and absolutely adore my job! I work with the best children, every single lesson is totally different and we do such a varied array of art!

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as an illustrator and art tutor since 2013/2014. I started out by running private art workshops for both adults and children, and well a teaching in schools and within the community. However, I now focus predominantly on one-to-one art lessons.

Teaching Approach:

I like the student to dictate the specific subject matter of the lesson - and then I can take the lead and set lesson plans, with objectives in place for each lesson.

I believe I take a very professional approach, but at the same time I am laid back and relaxed as this helps my students to feel comfortable and at ease.

I can do either Virtual lessons or Studio lessons, here’s some information about both:

Virtual:
- take place on Zoom
- lessons are one hour
- lessons can be weekly or fortnightly
- Virtual works great for children needing a lot of step-by-step help. My camera is suspended above me so they have a really great view of what I’m doing at all times.
- I can send a material list for any art materials required
- lessons are £28

Studio:
- I have art studios in Newport and Stafford
- lessons are one hour
- lessons can be weekly or fortnightly
- Studio is great for trying out different kinds of art materials (I have everything!) but not so good for seeing the ‘step-by-step’ process as I’m sat next to the student (rather than the student seeing the camera above my work)
