Personal Description:

As a dynamic 1st class honors photography graduate, I display my commitment and talent in the field. Academically, I have achieved an A in A-level textiles, a B in A-level photography, and a grade 6 in GCSE Textiles, demonstrating my understanding of various media subjects. I am currently pursuing a PGCE degree at the University of Huddersfield, gaining hands-on experience at Leeds City College mentoring/observing and teaching Level 1&2 BTEC visual art students. I possess a refined skill set and a deep passion for visual storytelling shows my passion for the subject. My technical proficiency is matched by my creative mindset which has allowed me to create a strong portfolio.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently gaining hands-on teaching experience at Leeds City College, where I mentor/observe/teach Level 1 and 2 visual arts students. Moreover, at the same time, I am gaining work experience at Batley Girls High School with A-Level, year 12&13 Photography students.

Furthermore, I have been a teacher Assistant, at Batley Girls High School from June 2017-July 2017 and February 2019 –June 2019. During this time I have been:
• Mentoring: Helping Year 7 ICT students to improve their understanding; commending strengths. Helping Year 10 Textiles class with their work; praising strengths, providing advice, and helping students improve their work.
• Communication: Planning and presenting assessments based on previous lesson knowledge.
• Supervision/leadership: Taking class registers; explaining lesson activities, ensuring students clearly understand expectations.

Teaching Approach:

My teaching approach varies depending on the student, as each student has a unique style of learning. In relation to craft and design, I would assess the student's approach to learning, their strengths, and weaknesses, and then adapt my teaching accordingly through a thorough plan. I would create engaging and creative lessons, fostering a supportive learning environment where the students feel safe to ask questions. I would employ various resources to make learning accessible and enjoyable through creative teaching aids. Through my guidance, I plan to boost students' confidence in the subject, and their skills and unlock their full potential to achieve academic success.
