Information About Richard - Wadebridge teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Richard:
I've been teaching people to sculpt for 25 years, whether a complete novice or a teacher wanting some CPD all are welcome. My philosophy is 'there are no wrong answers' I create an environment of confidence and self esteem in my classes, which enables and encourages students to explore their own sculptural potential. I have a vast knowledge of materials and techniques so I work in any material and at any size and genre. Students can also explore mould making and cast their work if they so wish. Some of my previous students have gone on to sell there work so I also teach a module on enterprise including copyright protection, marketing and how to make a profit from your artwork.
As well as my own studio workshops, I am currently resident artist at Sowenna so am highly experienced at working with students with mental health issues, confidence building and improving self esteem
I started teaching because people kept coming in to my studio and saying "I wish I could do what you do" … so I developed a pedagogic methodology that embraces all abilities and raises confidence and self esteem and encourages people to explore their own creative potential.
I am a self taught sculptor so my teaching incorporates the belief that you do not need to have gone to university and /or have a degree to be a successful artist. I teach all ages.
Good sculpture does not necessarily come from having an arm full of degrees.
My philosophy is 'there are no wrong answers' The role of a good art teacher is to enable creativity however the student wishes to express themselves, I can teach the student on a huge range of materials, processes and techniques no matter what genre, style or size.
