Teaching Experience:
STORY:
I began teaching English and Guitar towards the the end of 1999; mainly to the Korean and Chinese students here in Birmingham who were mainly studying either at school or pursuing higher education.
I then travelled to China to pursue a teaching career embarking on a studying program : studying and teaching EFL. A couple of times having to administer teaching lessons in the parks to the locals!
Afterwards, coming back to the UK I carried on working in schools and community colleges around the Birmingham areas teaching range of ages: children and adults alike.
Presently now teaching folk from China, Japan , Polish, Ukranine Spain, and Italy to mention just a few!! . Additionally my spare time, (if any) working as a support worker for a well known charity. This involves supporting homeless people develop new skills and prepare for independent living. through writing support plans and training schemes within the project, to promote independent living. I also augmented a classroom based I.T / course called 'Computers Don't Byte' for those without computer experience or for those wishing to advance further into the IT field.
What-ever your ability, beginner or intermediate; I can help with speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills, primarily to learn English as a foreign language (or as a second language): from basic levels to advanced levels.
Teaching Approach:
I have a hands on approach to teaching, encouraging students to experience interaction through realia, role plays, games, reference material, video, music, group sessions, and also one to one.
I always try to wri**Contact Detail Removed**sson plans around the individual/s; and perform a needs analysis assessment within the first lesson and then wri**Contact Detail Removed**ssons working with a curriculum in mind; focusing on weaker areas and helping to develop them into their strengths using various techniques, interaction and integration.I mainly teach within Birmingham City Centre, but can travel within a reasonable distance should you require one to one tuition, at a nearby town.
