Information About Lucy - Thornton Heath teacher

Personal Description:

I trained as a theatre director on the MFA Theatre Directing course at Birkbeck, and at the Royal Exchange Theatre. I also trained as an actor at the Italia Conti Academy. I have worked as a freelance director in theatres such as the Royal Exchange, Arcola, York Theatre Royal, Pleasance, Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, and I have assisted top director's all over the UK.

I teach at drama schools reguarly, and have worked with RADA third year students, Manchester School of Theatre third year students, and Fourth Monkey first years. I reguarly tutor actors who are applying for drama schools. I really enjoy working with you to find new speeches that suit your character.

Aside from theatre, I'm a big Liverpool FC fan, I love cooking, interior design and travelling.

Teaching Experience:

Drama School teaching - Fourth Monkey, Manchester School of Theatre/Royal Exchange, RADA third years/Birkbeck.

I've tutored many actors looking to go to drama school - successful students have gone onto Central School of Speech and Drama, ALRA, LAMDA, Italia Conti and Drama Centre.

I've taught non-performers as well as trained actors and enjoy working on community projects.

I have worked extensively with professional actors, most recently for 12 months at the Royal Exchange Theatre on four main stage productions.

Teaching Approach:

I work holistically: I like to get to know you first; what you're excited and interested by, what challenges and scares you, and what sort of experience you've had with acting and theatre. From that, I can gather an understanding for where you are and what you need to take you forwards in your career.
