Information About Lucy - Maryland teacher

Personal Description:

I am a theatre director with a training from the MFA Theatre Directing course at Birkbeck College - the top theatre directing degree in the country.

I have been a resident director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. I have worked on four main house shows within the building. I work with both professional and non-professional actors as well as actors in training.

I have recently spent three months at RADA working on two third year shows. I have also recently worked with Tony award winning playwright, Simon Stephens, and third year students from the Manchester School of Theatre.

I have taught at several drama schools in the UK, and I regularly tutor individuals who are auditioning for drama school.

Teaching Approach:

If you are auditioning for drama school, I would usually work with you to select appropriate material for you to audition with. Once selected, I would work on each speech with you in a holistic and creative way. We would analyse the text and character - and the relationship your character has with the text - and I would guide you into finding a confident and exciting approach to performing the texts.

I trained as an actor and know that everything comes from the actor - I will be there to nurture, support and finesse your talents.
