Personal Description:

I'm an experienced and enthusiastic Drama and Acting teacher that's committed to helping my students strive to ensure that they achieve the best possible grade that they can. I am a creative teacher and I believe that learning is a partnership between the student and the teacher which works towards the learner achieving at the best of their ability. I am very creative, and vary my teaching methods to help my students to not only learn, but enjoy what they learn. My teaching is also designed to build the learner’s confidence in themselves and their ability.
I have been teaching for 14 years, since September 2004, and have taught Drama and Acting and have also been an examiner and moderator for these subjects. I have taught AS/A2 in Theatre Studies and worked as an examiner in these subjects. I have also taught Btec and UAL Performing Arts L2 and L3 and am an examiner, Standards Verifier and Lead IV for this subject.

Teaching Experience:

After studying at Brunel University for my BA and Rose Bruford for my MA and Buck New Uni for my QTLS teaching qualification, I am currently teaching in a College in Buckinghamshire. I have been teaching for 14 years, since September 2004, and have taught Drama and Acting and have also been an examiner and moderator for this subject. I have taught AS/A2 in Theatre Studies and worked as an examiner in these subjects. I have also taught Btec and UAL Performing Arts L2 and L3 and am an examiner, Standards Verifier and Lead IV for this subject. I bring a high level of teaching experience, with excellent examination results. I can also advise on UCAS Applications and have worked privately with learners on audition pieces for Drama School and University.

Teaching Approach:

The most important thing initially is to identify the area where the learners feel they need some extra help. This gives the learners a starting point and once identified, the work can begin.
I have worked as an examiner and moderator across the major Awarding Bodies, including; AQA, OCR, UAL and EdExcel, and I have a thorough understanding of what they require, and will cover the key areas and skills that they will need. Each session with me will have a clear target for the learner and they will identify what they will be working on and how they are going to improve. Each session will have a clear progression and the student will be able to identify their progress as they move through the sessions. Each session is bespoke and tailored to each individual learner’s need. It is important to build confidence in their learning and they will complete each session with a clear understanding of how they can improve and progress.
I am also able to work on the practical side of drama. I will work on speeches, pronunciation and audition work, as well as practical coursework elements. I have a lot of experience in preparing auditions for Drama School and University and have also had great success in this.
