Personal Description:

Personal Description:

OUTSTANDING RESULTS IN GCSE, A-LEVEL & UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS!! A HIGHLY QUALIFIED Art Specialist. Happy to teach face to face or online. I use many varied prompts to make sure all learning is as interactive and involving as possible for my students.I enjoy encouraging students to have a thirst for learning and to have inquisitive minds!

I believe in tailoring the tuition to suit the individual's needs and that learning should be relevant and enjoyable. With a holistic view and experience of education and tutoring, To gain a deeper understanding of students' needs is to ensure I am able to unlock their potential and promote self-confidence, I have a well-proven track record in empowering students of all ages towards achieving their goals. I am proud to have been part of the education journey of some currently serving in high-profile and public office.

I am a friendly, reassuring, patient and encouraging tutor. I try to instill confidence in my tutees by motivating them to talk through their methods so that they have the confidence and ability to solve problems independently.I aim to focus on the student and their individual needs. I aim to work out what it is that the student needs most support with and focus on those topics.

My belief is that tutoring is a chance for the one on one support that they cannot necessarily receive in a classroom environment. I am supportive and can easily explain methods for the student to progress in their work. I believe in giving a student confidence in their own ability.

No magician, I am acclaimed for my gentle expectations and clear, student-centred explanations - within an appropriate context of fun!

My work expresses events in my life and those of others, as inspiration of works ranging from drawing, printing, painting, to photography and card design.
My drawings start from a line of beauty that comes down from classical 1950′s fashion illustration filtered through Elsa Schiaparelli’s 1930′s work. The line is fluid and harmonious, while the smudging gives it a contemporary twist and, at the same time, adds to the overall effect of characters that are suspended in time. The feeling is that of a dreamlike dimension, of a moment almost stolen from the life of the characters, of thoughts being explored and then realised into drawings. Sometimes, the drawings area like camera work: they frame stories as if seen through a peep-hole. When there is use of colour, the effect is that it is complementing the drawing not contrasting it. The blocks of colours shift from candy and jewel-like ones to a more definite palette of blues, reds, purples, whites and black, their visual influence mingles my art of travel with that of modern art referencing.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher, thoroughly enjoy working one to one with students and small groups. I have taught the Pearson Edexcel, AQA and OCR boards. I’ve helped students achieve A* in all of them. On average, students working with me have achieved at least a grade higher than their class teacher’s predicted grade and in many cases 2 grades higher. I have been teaching in secondary schools for the past 18 years. In this time I have taught both Creative Arts to Primary KS1-2, KS3, GCSE , A level, Nursing homes, Adults & YOI's and achieved very good results with classes. I have taught all levels of student from those who are struggle with creative arts to those who have achieved A*.
