Personal Description:

I am a professional writer and theatre maker based in Manchester. I have had my work performed at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Camden People's Theatre and Derby Theatre, and I have worked as part of other artists' projects on shows that have toured nationally. I write plays, poetry, and long and short fiction and have had my writing published by The Stage, The Real Story, Ambit, and Exeunt Magazine.

Teaching Experience:

I regularly deliver creative writing workshops for organisations across the north of England, in poetry, fiction, and theatrical writing. Organisations who have employed me as a facilitator include Manchester International Festival, Manchester Literature Festival, New Writing North, Bolton Libraries, Hull Culture and Leisure, and The Writing Squad.

Teaching Approach:

When we sit down to write, we create worlds. Writing always thrills me because I never know what the end result might be. Working to encourage others' writing is even more surprising, and even more rewarding. Every student is different, and I will work with you to explore what excites you about writing, and push you to experiment with different styles and forms to help you find your unique voice.
