Personal Description:

James is a friendly, enthusiastic and experienced international coach in acting (incl. LAMDA) and elocution (incl. accent reduction & public speaking) based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. James has always had a love for languages, having partially grown up in the South West of France and going on to train for four years in theatre, screen and radio acting at Drama Centre London and Italia Conti Academy in London. James is also the founder and director of multi-award winning not-for-profit organisation Big Bold Youth, a Community Interest Company providing affordable and accessible drama activities for young people across the UK. He has an Enhanced DBS check, is trained in child protection and first aid.

Teaching Experience:

James has had a passion for teaching for over a decade, starting at the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre in Guildford and going on to set up his own youth theatre in Dorking for fellow students at his school. After four years of training at two of London’s top drama schools, James began teaching elocution and acting privately in 2016, moving on later to running masterclasses and events for large groups. Now teaching clients across the world, James has taught more than 1200 hours of elocution and acting coaching.

James tailors each lesson depending on a student’s personal learning style and specific needs. Whatever level of experience, James enjoys helping students reach their potential and likes them to walk away after each lesson with a feeling of accomplishment.

James offers the following options for 1:1 coaching:

Office: James usually teaches clients from his office based in Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes.
Online: Can't travel to the office or outside of the UK? James also teaches online via Zoom. All you need is a good internet connection and a webcam.

PAYMENT

James uses a booking system for clients in order to provide my most up-to-date session availability. When booking a new session, clients have the option to pay via debit/credit car, PayPal or by bank transfer. There is also 5% and 10% discount for pre-paid block bookings of 5 or 10 sessions respectively.

ONLINE SESSIONS

James offers online sessions for students who are too far away to visit via Zoom.

VOICE ASSESSMENT

James is able to do voice assessments (a prerequisite for elocution coaching) which lasts 45-60 minutes and costs £25. By the end, James will be able to tell exactly what he has heard in your voice and where you need to work the most in order to achieve your aims/goals.
