Information About Ion - Southwark teacher
Ion is a self taught photographer specialising in architecture and portrait. He’s been living in the UK, London over the past 7 years. He fell in love with photography a long time ago and he found it to be a consuming passion ever since. Since he bought his first DSLR camera Ion devoted himself to photography particularly architecture and portraiture. Ion strives to bring out each individual’s personality in his photos and to tell the story and spirit of each day through his captures.
Ion’s first rule: always have a camera with you! Every time you take a walk you see so many interesting subjects, unique opportunities which you may never have the chance to see again. Whenever Ion goes out he has a camera in his bag. To him, photography is about momentum, freezing a moment from the world’s life for eternity.
Ion says: “When I bought my first camera I thought that just pressing the shutter would be enough to take some good photographs. Very soon I discovered that looking through the camera viewfinder is a further step into the world and that the camera is an instrument that teaches you how to see without a camera. Showing other people how your eyes see the world requires a lot of work, determination and special skills. Soon, it occurred to me that above everything in photography (equipment, technical skills, resources, etc) reigns the eye of the photographer and its vision; a vision which has to convey his beliefs, ideas and style. I love being a photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document the places, the memories, love, look, mood and the happiness. I approach lifestyle portrait photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect each subject’s unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished for years to come."
