I'm a professional international artist practising drawing, painting and sculpture. My first degree was in oil painting with a focus on the human anatomy earned in 1999. I've exhibited in various galleries in both the US and UK and am primarily a professional artist who teaches on the side.
I live in East London and work in my studio every day possible. My current primary focus is nature illustration and contemporary abstract sculpture influenced by elements from our Universe.
I only teach adults.
I have over 20 years teaching experience in both the USA and UK. I've taught children and adults of all ages and levels. I've taught in schools in a classroom setting as well as privately, one to one. I prefer teaching privately as I feel I can help individual students more than if I'm teaching a large group of students.
I only teach adults. I'm sorry but, I don't teach anyone younger than 16 years old. Please do not contact me if you want to find a teacher for your child as I only teach those students 16 years old and above.
I teach traditional drawing as taught by the great masters of the Renaissance. My methods involve teaching my students how to learn to "see" and to understand and correctly use perspective, relationships and composition. I only teach adults and those wanting to improve their techniques and build a stronger portfolio. Prior to taking new students, I require a portfolio evaluation of the students work so I can see their skill level and to better understand how I can help them.
Please note to all students considering taking lessons from me: One lesson with me is a 2 hour minimum lesson and a 4 hour maximum in one lesson.
All lessons are held at the Victoria & Albert Museum. I can provide an art supply list and can suggest best days and times to conduct lessons.
For expense reasons, I do not teach in your home or mine. The Victoria & Albert Museum is the best location for my traditional lessons. If you do take lessons from me, please do arrive a few minutes before your lesson time at the location and have all materials required.
I respect your lesson time by switching my phone to silent and not using it unless looking for art history related subjects so please also switch your phone to silent and refrain from texting or calling while I'm teaching you.
