Information About Ellie - Derby teacher

Personal Description:

I have been a theatre director for the last 10 years, and have worked with many different skill-sets, levels and ages. I have directed at lots of UK theatres including the National Theatre, Shakespeare North Playhouse and Storyhouse in Chester. I spent four years working as a youth theatre leader working with ages 10-25, and have helped young people with drama school, screen and stage auditions. I love helping people find their confidence through acting and storytelling, and also offering tools to delve into texts and character work.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught drama and acting to youth theatre children for four years. I also was a tutor at Merseyside Academy of Drama teaching adults Acting for beginners, Intermediate and Advanced courses. I tutor people 1-1 for drama school auditions.

Teaching Approach:

My approach to teaching is always personalised and fun. Acting and drama is a creative tool, and is a way of expressing yourself and discovering more about yourself and the world around you. By learning and understanding the tools needed to discover a character and contextualise and analyse a script, you will also be building your confidence and social skills.
