Information About Claire - Liphook teacher

Personal Description:

I am a subject specialist teacher with skills spanning the Art and Design Curriculum which enables me to assist with cross curricular delivery and support. My specialisations are in the area of Art Textiles, specifically Surface Skills and the application of Art Techniques using a Textile medium. I am able to advise and guide with regards to construction and design.

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years experience as an Art and Design Technician and an additional 4 years delivering AQA and Eduqas GCSE Art Textiles at a private school. I have had students consistently achieve grades 7-9 at the end of their GCSE's. I have also delivered Arts Award, guiding students to find their own path in terms of skills development. I have supported students across different levels and abilities, including those with SEN needs.

Teaching Approach:

I love experimenting with different techniques to create unique and meaningful outcomes relevant to the theme being investigated. I have an open mind and don't believe in limitations, rather encouraging students to see what will happen or to push further to create more interesting and diverse outcomes. I like to demonstrate and make suggestions, guiding students through experimentations but with the idea being that the student is driving the outcomes and expressing their own creative identity
