Information About Chen I - Hackney teacher

Personal Description:

I am an illustrator and animator with a master's degree in Communication Design at Kingston University (2018) and a Graduate Diploma in fashion & textile at the Royal College of Arts (2019). I have been a freelance illustrator since graduation.

Drawing is my passion since I was a kid and I do life drawings and travel journals to record human activities. Besides hand-drawing skills, I also specialized in digital skills like transferring sketches to digital drawing and applying textures on images. I have the skill set of Adobe software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and drawing apps on iPad like procreate and Fresco.

Teaching Experience:

I've been an art tutor for four years and helped kids and adults to pursue their artistic desire. From how to observe to how to draw, and from how to generate ideas to express the ideas fully. I love to see my students achieve their goals by visualizing things in their minds and drawing things they appreciate.

I also help my students to learn to create logos, branding materials, social media images, patterns, and design brushes in photoshop. I had worked in an animation studio in 2016 and created motion graphics and gif images from After Effects, Photoshop, and procreate.

I would love to share all my creative knowledge and passion with you and see your joy in achieving and improving.

Teaching Approach:

We will design the course content together based on your interests, needs, and abilities, and develop it according to your needs. We can learn hand-drawing skills like sketching, coloring, and perspectives, as well as digital software like photoshop, illustrator, and procreate. I can also help you with the methods to develop projects and complete your artwork. If you are preparing a portfolio for the University or building an online presence, I can help you with strategies too.

I will encourage you to play with ideas, have fun during the process, and enjoy the unexpected things. We will create a friendly environment for your learning process, and find the most suitable way to achieve your goals.
