Information About Ashleigh - Muswell Hill teacher

Personal Description:

Hello! I'm Ashleigh, I'm a writer and actor from Sheffield, based in London. I graduated from Mountview drama school with an MA in Acting in 2017 and have been writing and performing since then. Most recently, I wrote and performed my one-woman show, TUMOURS, at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019 and Soho Theatre. I was then signed by literary agent, Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, and am currently developing TV scripts and a new play. I'm also a member of the writers room, Efficient Women Writers, which is sponsored by ITV, and am an alumni of the well-respected Soho Theatre Writers' Lab.

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching for almost four years on both a one-to-one and a classroom basis. I was a drama teacher for PQA Greenwich for a year and have been coaching students who are taking their GCSEs, A-levels and those who are applying to drama schools. I also run writing workshops and tutor English Literature/Language GCSE/A-Levels.

Teaching Approach:

I'm a very relaxed teacher and always approach students with an open mind; getting to know how they think and see the world to inform how best to communicate so that the learning experience is as fun and enriching as possible. I think it's so important for students to take control of their learning, so I will thoroughly question choices in order for the student to make their own decisions on how something should be performed/written but a decision that is considered and interrogated.
