Information About Andy - Chester teacher

Personal Description:

I'm a recent Graduate with a BA (Hons) in Drama and currently studying an MA in Screenwriting from Screen Academy Scotland. I've written 13 productions for the stage that have all been performed and received well by critics, many pieces of prose, screenplays and even a video game. I have a varied background which also includes working as a critic and as a performer of new writing, so I am capable of approaching Creative Writing from a number of perspectives.

Teaching Experience:

I've assisted in the teaching of Media Studies by leading special classes and workshops. I've also led workshops in creative writing that covered many fields of writing, including poetry, prose and script. On top of this, I have also mentored other writers.

Teaching Approach:

I feel that once the basic skills of storytelling are established with a student, I need to help them first find their voice and then refine their skills. To do this I arrange exercises & homework, encourage a lot of reading and allow the student the chance to experiment with their work. I'm more than willing to work outside of tutorial time if the student demonstrates that they are also willing to put the effort in.
