Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Amy. My first novel won the Northern Book Prize and was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Prize. My second novel is currently with my agent! Before becoming an author I worked as a researcher/lecturer in neuropsychology. I love teaching face to face but am happy to teach online too.
Teaching Experience:
I've taught creative writing courses at a local arts centre as well as one off classes at universities. I'm a qualified teacher (ages 11-18) and have many years' teaching experience. I've also taught psychology and statistics at the University of Wales and Newman University.
Teaching Approach:
I'm passionate about making sure students feel comfortable enough to express themselves freely. It doesn't matter if you come with a specific piece of writing you want to work through or if you have no idea what you want to write. Experience doesn't matter either.
I love watching students grow in confidence and ability, and move towards being their own best teachers.
