Personal Description:

My passion is in theatre and music. I am a director, actor, musical director, conductor and pianist. I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2009 with a 2:1 in Music (BMus, Hons.).

I am a director working in London. I devise new productions; am comfortable with overtly physical theatre and puppetry; and am experienced with 20th Century American drama.

As an actor I have toured professionally with musicals, Shakespeare and children's theatre, performing in Bath, Birmingham, Scarborough, Edinburgh and London. I am the founder and artistic director of Rose Bridge Theatre Company based in London.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching is something I have enjoyed for years, from the piano or a musical score to cast members, to the text of a play. I work with the simple and achievable goal of moving someone forward in confidence and ability. As long as the student puts the work in then we can achieve a great deal.

Audition prep is a focus of my teaching, both for drama schools and productions. I have helped twenty students over the last three years and have a good success rate.

In the last three years I have taught year 6 SATS; GCSEs English, History, Maths, Religious Studies and Music; A-Level Music, English and Philosophy; and piano and acting lessons.

Teaching Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to set down reasonable targets and take the student through each in order to reach their goal. I encourage the student and aim to show them the progress they are making. It's important that students know they are capable; half the battle is in their own mind.

If the student maintains their discipline and works hard then we both can enjoy ourselves. My teaching experience has given me the patience and discipline to teach complex material with clarity, either 1 on 1 or for a group, and I am confident I will improve your or your child's academic performance.
