This is how 22 referees rated Rebecca:
I'm a biology tutor because I want to help students succeed, but what does success look like? I believe that it comes down to attitude and confidence more than raw knowledge and approach tutoring accordingly. My first job is always to discover how a student learns best: visually, verbally, kinesthetically, or some combination between them. Once I know that, I make sure to teach that way so that students can make the most of every meeting.
I attended Marin Academy, a private high school that helped me develop a variety of study strategies I'm excited to share with others. I graduated from Brown University with an undergrad degree in 2013.
There are a lot of tutors who want to lecture to students, but I believe that it's far more important to listen to them. Once the lines of communication are open, you can better understand your pupil's specific needs and adjust sessions appropriately.
