Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Vincenzo. I am Italian and I have been living in Toronto, Canada for the past 4 years to pursue undergraduate studies as an international student. I have an excellent and multidisciplinary academic career, which I will continue with an MA in Public Policy at King's College London, in London, UK, commencing September 2020. I am very detail-oriented and very well versed in languages. In June 2020, I will be obtaining a bilingual (English and French) BA Honours double major in International Studies and Drama Studies from York University's Glendon College. Moreover, I have been taking Spanish classes and have employed this language in working environments.
I currently work as a bilingual (English & French) Research Assistant at York University and as a part-time sales associate at a store in downtown Toronto. Given the location of the store, I use English, Spanish, French and Italian to provide customer service that offers a more tailored and pleasant experience to the clien**Contact Detail Removed**. I have been able to transmit my passion for languages to many around me and have assisted various people in learning and improving their Italian and English.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had both casual and formal experiences in providing tutoring sessions in Latin, Italian and English. Some of the students I have helped were interested in improving their language skills for academic purposes and they were able to successfully pass their exams after taking classes with me. I have helped students of various ages: younger learners, teenagers and college students.

Tutoring Approach:

During high school, I had experience with tutoring Latin. This has shaped my current teaching style, which is focused on providing a solid foundation in grammar. Nonetheless, I also value the teaching of practical skills, particularly conversational skills, which I help my students develop from the basis of the grammatical foundation that I establish with them. I am always interested in customizing my classes to meet the needs and achieve the goals of my students and I work towards building a positive and inclusive environment in order to develop a genuine connection with them. My plurilingual background can be seen as an asset when communicating with my students as it helps avoid misunderstandings and reinforce their learning by comparing and contrasting the target languages with those they might have previous knowledge of.
