Personal Description:

Bonjour, Hello!

I’m Umut, and I'm an experienced French Tutor. I am currently doing my Ph. D. in French Studies at Western University. I hold a master's degree in French Literature and a bachelor's degree in French Language Teaching.

I'm a very enthusiastic, organized and patient person. I'm passionate about languages, cultures, travelling, reading and sports.

Tutoring Experience:

-Over the years, I've managed to bring many students from entry-level to converse and gain confidence- fluency in French.
-I have been teaching French language, literature and culture courses to university/college students and professionals for over 5 years.
-I have worked at different universities such as Western University and Simon Fraser University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, French Instructor and Tutor.
-I have also taught French to adults at different organizations such as Collège Boréal and the City of London.
-I gave beginner, intermediate and advanced level courses and worked with Professionals individually and in a group to improve their conversational and writing French skills.

*In the 2017-2018 academic year, I was selected as one of the top 8 professors by Western students and nominated for the USC Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

-I include a lot of interactive language activities in my lessons such as role play scenarios, videos, podcasts, games, etc.
