Personal Description:

My number one goal is to provide students who are struggling with the relief that comes from knowing somebody understands what they are going through and the confidence that comes from experiencing success. I have taught Reading and Writing in one-on-one settings and in small groups. I love the English language and writing and am enthusiastic about sharing this love with my students.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, which may not sound like the beginning of a description for an English tutor, but when I was at university, I did a lot of English tutoring. I helped students edit essays, taught them test-taking and study skills, and helped them improve their reading comprehension.

Tutoring Approach:

When I tutor a student in the subject at hand, I first teach it to them and then have them teach it back to me. This allows the student to see the material from different viewpoints so it can be fully understood. This underscores my belief that everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student.
