Personal Description:

I'm a professional math tutor, currently studying Computer Science at UBC.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring privately for the past 3 years. I have worked at the Mathnasium centre for a year and went through their training. I have experience tutoring a math 10 class at high school, and I always had a few private students from grades 9-12. My price is slightly above average due to the high efficiency of my classes. One of my students who failed pre-calc 11 managed to receive 92% after retaking the course with only 15-20 tutoring sessions, and her foundations are now stronger than ever! Math used to be her weakest course, but now it's her strongest! I teach the students how to deeply learn the materials and how to approach any questions, which will help them with any other courses in the future as well!

Tutoring Approach:

I am super familiar with the newest teaching methods, and I pride myself on building a strong foundation for my students for a much deeper understanding. My teaching method varies depending on the student's skills. I teach my students the reasoning behind every step of their work, and my goal is not only to help a student achieve better test marks! If the foundations and deep learning are not there, the students will continue to suffer in their future math courses and will never be able to independently learn math on their own or solve any slightly challenging questions that are slightly different than what they have seen before.
