Personal Description:

My name is Patrick, I am a British tutor from the UK currently training to become a pilot. Although I am from the UK I studied in Canada for 3 years during from the age of 12-15 when my family moved here for work. So I am well versed in the academic requirements of both the Canadian and English students. I attended an elite boarding in the UK from age 15 to 18 and then studied Physics for 4 years at the University of Manchester achieving a Master's degree in Physics.

I myself, am the product of 12 years of the education system, I know it inside and out. I`ve seen what works best in terms of teaching as a result. I tutored a lot during University to people who needed to brush up on their maths and I have helped students for the last 3 years improve and excel during their early academic careers. The techniques and processes I provide were developed during my early academic examination miles and, improved during my time at University and honed with the students I have already taught. I have a plethora of references available.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 3 years of experience tutoring students in Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry coupled with a Master`s degree in Physics from the University of Manchester. I have had tremendous success with all of my pupils with a range of abilities and needs. Some students I have tutored have gone on to University to study Mathematics and the Sciences due to their new found passion for the subjects.

I have worked with a range of student abilities and understanding. But ability is not what is required to succeed at GCSE and A-Levels in my opinion and as such I don`t believe students can`t achieve grades beyond what they believe is their ceiling. I also have several years of experience working as a SEN tutor providing support to dyslexic and ADHD diagnoised pupils

Tutoring Approach:

The core foundation of my tutoring is orientated around building confidence, instilling proper study techniques and approaches whilst developing a core understanding of not only the subject but how to engage with exams effectively. Support and engagement are my main methods of cementing successful work practices and study techniques from which your children will use to excel to their proper potentials.

I`m well organised, laid back and easy going. Pressure from educational perspective does little in my opinion to improve a pupils capability and as such I ensure that lessons are never unenjoyable or a pain. Work must never be viewed as a punishment but more as a requirement and a neccassity to excel in todays ever more challenging educational environment.
