Personal Description:
I am an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia studying math and statistics. I'm currently in my fourth year. Aside from school I enjoy rock climbing and hiking.
Tutoring Experience:
I have several years of experience tutoring in math subjects ranging from high school to university level. Including Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.
I also offer tutoring in Statistics, for example preparing for the AP statistics exam.
Tutoring Approach:
I try to motivate concepts with specific examples and only then move on to the more general method. I encourage students to think about why something is true and to develop their reasoning skills that can apply to more than just math problems. I also want to make sure my students understand that math isn't something you either are or aren't good at. It is a skill that can be improved with practice - that doesn't mean it will be easy, but it will be possible!
