Personal Description:

I am a certified teacher with nine years experience teaching grades 6-12. I have been working in international schools in Medellin, Colombia where I have greatly enjoyed traveling and soaking up the local culture. I am currently living in my hometown of Ottawa, Canada. I enjoy studying languages, listening to music, cooking and traveling. I am fluent in Spanish and speak a little French as well.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught professionally for nine years in Medellin Colombia. During this time I have taught ESL, Language Arts, and Social Studies (in English and in Spanish). From March to June I was teaching my classes online. Throughout my years teaching I have always prided myself on my ability to work with students one on one to build up their confidence and love of learning. Additionally, I also taught ESL in South Korea for one year before becoming a professional teacher. During this time I taught grades 3-6 and privately tutored various students of a wide range of ages.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to work with students based on their own personal likes and dislikes. My main goal is to inspire the student and build up their confidence in order to excel. For me the most important part of teaching is to instill in students a love of learning.
