Personal Description:

I love Science. I find it very enjoyable to help others understand Science. Learning should be fun and I strive to make my teaching techniques adhere to that while maintaining rigor. I especially love the middle school level but I enjoy all children. I raised 3 of my own.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for twelve years, 2 in Health and 10 in Science. Teaching is a second career for me. I am a Medical Technologist as well where I perform clinical testing in a hospital laboratory. I feel this gives me a unique perspective having a job where I use Science. I believe in sharing my experiences I can impart to my students a reason for studying Science and enthusiasm for the subject. In my 10 years teaching Science our school's standardized test scores have steadily improved.

Tutoring Approach:

I would like my tutoring sessions to be student driven. I would need to know where their weaknesses/misconceptions lie and proceed from there. I feel that I am a patient, kind person and know that a frustrated student can benefit from patience and kindness over drills and demands.
