Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Mary-Jean, and thank you for stopping by my page! I am a math and physics tutor who hopes to help students reach their potential from the elementary school level to unviersity. I offer tutoring in-person in the Nepean area or online through Zoom.
I also like novel and short story writing, reading, animals, kpop, fitness, philosophy, traveling, and fantasy and sci-fi fiction. I am an author of two published novels (Aizai the Forgotten and Shadows of Aizai) and various published short stories. I have also participated in writing workshops involving editing my own and others’ works.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been a teaching assistant in linear algebra and physics at Carleton University and the University of Victoria, and have been a tutor for math, physics, and English at the high school level for the past few years. I have been with various tutoring agencies as well as an independent tutor.
Tutoring Approach:
Through tutoring, I hope to inspire students to excel in their studies as well as develop confidence and effective study skills. In particular, I am eager to tutor math, physics, philosophy, English, and writing essays and fiction. I completed my Maters degree from the Perimeter Institute (in conjunction with the University of Waterloo) in the competitive Perimeter Scholars International Program that accepts 30 students a year out of approximately 400 applicants from around the world to study with leading theoretical physicists
