Personal Description:

I am a UBC Engineering student who went to high school in Kamloops. Currently, I am working on a research paper and various programming projects. I graduated high school with a high 90s average and acceptance into every university I applied to with thousands of dollars in scholarships.

Tutoring Experience:

I was a member of my peer-tutoring program in my high school and had multiple long-term tutoring clients outside of school that typically ranged from grades 10-12. Additionally, I was a teacher assistant for five different classes and have experience working with students with learning challenges.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that high-level knowledge cannot be absorbed and retained without a solid understanding of the fundamentals. In the first class, I would like to see how the student approaches their own grade-level problems and then work backward to fill any lack of rudimentary skills. Afterward, I will continue to develop their understanding of the subject. From previous tutoring experience, this method is most effective in helping the student retain long term knowledge and help build success for the future.
