Personal Description:

I am currently a Grade 10 student studying at Argyle Secondary. I have a love for math and a thorough understanding of the subject up to my grade level, thanks to my talented teachers having taught my class advanced concepts. I would prefer to tutor grades 7, 8, 9, and 10, as those grades are what I'm most familiar with. As for my art background; I have been passionate about drawing and painting for most of my life, and I am currently in an art class for the grade above mine. Understanding the Principles of Art is important and should be used as a base to create when learning and to help one learn more interesting and relevant skills. I am part of a French Immersion program at my school and have been since I was in Kindergarten. In my experiences with french classes, it can feel almost embarrassing to participate and speak in front of peers, but I wouldn't let that stop the amount of effort I put in. I am also a huge Marvel fan and play Basketball in my spare time.

Tutoring Experience:

Sadly I have not formally tutored anyone before, but I have helped many of my friends with their homework before. I have done this in an instructional way, and I tend not to just give answers, instead my goal when helping is to help solidify the needed concepts in their minds. I have also practiced art criticism as well as provide advice on my peers' art when asked. In addition to this, I often teach young children about the care and maintenance of horses and equine facilities on a regular basis. Through teaching these children, I have learned how to convey new information while simultaneously keeping them safe.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring I aim to make sure that my tutee fully understands the concept. I can adapt to who I am tutoring if what I'm trying is not working. While teaching I fully intend to do so in a more relaxed and patient manner. If needed extra time can be added so that questions are answered and we end on a good note. tutoring via video call is preferred so that I can explain subjects moe thoroughly to ensure that the material is understood. Sessions can be any duration varying from half an hour to 80 minutes. It would be preferred that the tutee has material from a class we can go through. If there is ever a time when the tutee does not have any homework and still wishes to do a session, it would be appreciated if I am given time in advance to prepare something to go over during such a session. While tutoring, I would like to maintain a positive environment. I am also open to occasional sessions later at night, but nothing past 10:00 pm.
