Personal Description:

I can help students examine a wide range of writing and reading skills. I love working as an English tutor with students of all ages and ability levels. I work as a community college instructor, and I am able to incorporate what I have learned in that context into private tutoring. During one-on-one sessions, I am able to provide individualized instruction that helps students reach for their goals effectively.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in English and have also earned a master's degree in Education with an emphasis on Reading Instruction. I have tutored others since high school, and I have done so in a college writing lab, at a K-5 reading center, and in numerous other settings.

Tutoring Approach:

When I work as an English tutor, I use a diagnostic-prescriptive style to constantly assess a student's abilities and growth. Based on what I observe, I adapt my instruction to better meet the student's needs.
