Personal Description:

I was inspired to be a French tutor and teacher by my late elementary school principal, Dr. Julian King. Other teachers saw me as nothing more than a behavior problem, but Dr. King realized that I was a smart kid who was prone to get bored in school and had a chaotic home life. He made sure that I had the resources I needed to succeed, and eventually I figured out that I was supposed to become an educator myself and pay it forward.

Tutoring Experience:

I have formal teaching experience and I know that my techniques can produce results. I also have a master's degree in Educational Studies and an ABD in Curriculum and Instruction.

Tutoring Approach:

I adhere to the foundational principles spelled out in "Mastery Teaching" by Dr. Madeline Hunter, which means that I believe in a constructionist "guide on the side" approach as opposed to being a "sage on the stage." I'll ask my students questions to help them reach the answer in their own unique way.
