Personal Description:

I am an Elementary School teacher with a passion for education. I am, myself, a lifelong learner. Most recently, I am enjoying an online course from Vale University called. "The Science of Well Being." I am an active volunteer with a local dog rescue and a proud "foster failure" having adopted our 11 years young special needs Yorkshire Terrier named Evie. I believe in second chances and taking time to smell the flowers. I look forward to working with your student on their education goals.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching and tutoring for 17 years. I have enjoyed teaching in all three divisions including Primary. Junior and Intermediate. I am familiar with E.Q.A.O. testing parameters, having taught Grade 6 over several years. I am familiar with the curriculum for grades 1 - 8 and have taught all grades fro K - 8. I have several years experience teaching Intermediate math, grade 7 and grade 8.

Tutoring Approach:

I will get to know each student's learning style, strengths and identify areas for growth in order to provide the best support possible. I have an integrated approach to teaching. I find students benefit from working on real-world problems and projects that are relevant to themselves. I am able to provide students with a variety of learning strategies and support to enhance their learning.
