Personal Description:

I was born and raised in Saint John New Brunswick but I've been working and volunteering abroad for the last 10 years. I have lived in east Asia and the Middle East and have travelled extensively throughout each region.

Tutoring Experience:

I am an experienced ESL teacher with a B.A from St. Thomas University, a Graduate certificate in TESOL from the University of Wisconsin and an M.A TESOL from the University of San Francisco. I am currently finishing a B.Ed at UNB with a focus on ESL. I am also a certified IELTS speaking and writing examiner and work for the British Council.

Tutoring Approach:

I focus heavily on learning in context and I also enjoy using technology to enhance the learning experiences of my students. My areas of expertise are IELTS preparation and communicative competency training (learning the basics of the English language). I have experience tutoring beginners ( those with very little experience learning English), advanced ( medical and pharmacy students), and everything in-between.
