Personal Description:
I'm an experienced University Math professor and High School Math teacher. I'm also an experienced Mathematical Olympiad/Math Contest instructor. I was previously Member of the Chinese Mathematical Society (CMS) and Member of the American Mathematical Society (AMS).
I was a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Manitoba with my research interest in both Mathematics and Computer Engineering. I have a Bachelor degree in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, a Master's degree in Mathematics, and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering.
I have many research papers on Mathematics and Computer Engineering published on both national and international journals.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 8 years of teaching experience as a University Math Professor and 3 years of teaching experience as a Senior High School Math Teacher. I also have 4 years of teaching experience as a Mathematical Olympiad/Math Contest Instructor.
Tutoring Approach:
With my incremental development approach and outstanding teaching skills, I help students strengthen their understanding of various math concepts, improve their skills and techniques in solving complicated problems, and eventually build a solid background and great confidence in math.
Students can enroll in one of the following three classes depending on their needs:
Tutoring Class: For students who have difficulties in understanding their class contents, or don't know how to solve assignment problems or how to prepare for their exams. The contents will be specially designed for each student after discussions with the student and/or the parents. Offered on demand.
Enrichment Class: For students who want to stay ahead, or like to learn more with more challenging contents and practice questions. The contents are carefully designed from national and international text/reference books. Offered one session(1.5 hours for One-on-One; 2 hours for Group of Two) per week throughout the year.
Only students who have a grade of 80% or higher from their school's math class will be considered for this class.
Contest Prep Class: For students who want to improve their scores in various national math contests through in-depth and focused training on selected topics. The contents are carefully designed from national and international contest preparation books and actual contest problems. Offered one session(1.5 hours for One-on-One; 2 hours for Group of Two) per week throughout the year.
Only students who have a grade of 85% or higher from their school's math class will be considered for this class.
