Personal Description:

I am a mother of two daughters who were both enrolled in Bayview Secondary School's IB program and have excelled academically. My eldest daughter graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors of Math and Business Administration. She then went on to complete her Master's degree in Business Analytics and Duke University. My youngest daughter is currently in the 12th grade attending Bayview. Education is very important in my family and I hope to share my passion for teaching and self-development with you.

Tutoring Experience:

Before immigrating to Canada, I taught mathematics at Qingdao no.39 high school for over ten years. Watching my students grow, particularly those who initially struggled, gave me the greatest joy as a teacher. Even after retiring as a teacher, I use tutoring as a channel to continue to teach students the foundations of mathematics and ensure they have the tools to succeed in school.

Tutoring Approach:

As a math teacher, I believe that a solid foundation is the key to learning any concept in mathematics. During lessons, I tend to use a traditional style of teaching equivalent to that of explaining topics while drawing on a whiteboard to allow students to visualize abstract concepts. If the child needs, computers and other technology can be used as aids. Practice sets and worksheets are used to explore different types of problems and real-life examples for you to explore.
