Personal Description:

In my fourth year in Chemistry at McMaster University, I'm looking to reach out and show off my teaching skills before I get my bachelors in education. After taking many, many chemistry courses with many different teachers I believe I can help out anyone looking for a different approach and a new way to look at solving a problem. Doing very well in chemistry, math and physics in high school, as well as my further education in these subjects in university, I am very excited to help students reach their full potential!

Tutoring Experience:

I have gained great experience in effective communication having trained multiple fellow staff members in my previous employment as a part-time online department manager as well as tutoring grade 8 math and grade 11 chemistry. I believe I've acquired invaluable insight into a leadership position, along with exemplary teaching skills. As a student myself, I know having patience and respect for your students is what helps them succeed.

Tutoring Approach:

I always start by assessing what a student is well at and what they need to improve on. By looking at their teachers approach and how it may fall short, I like to look over the content and try to teach it in a different, personalized way to help their understanding. Going over previous tests, making my own problem sheets based on the curriculum and working through them alongside your child is the best way to get them more practice and be prepared for upcoming tests, as well as improving their understanding as a whole.
