Personal Description:

My name is Isabella and I graduated from the University of Toronto and obtained my degree in commerce from the Rotman School of Management in 2019. I proceeded to complete a graduate program in the summer at the University of Toronto - Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting Program. I currently work at the accounting firm Deloitte as a staff accountant and I plan on writing the CFE in September (common final examination) that will permit me to meet the qualification in becoming a designated CPA.
Fun facts about me are that I love math! My favourite sports are soccer and basketball as I used to play both competitively and on my high school teams!

Tutoring Experience:

Although I do not have a lot of teaching experience, I do believe I excel in the way I help others when it came to studying different subjects. In terms of teaching experience, I did coach both basketball and soccer as my jobs/extracurriculars in high school. I would like to share my knowledge and passion for the courses I was successful at in high school as well as University.

Tutoring Approach:

The approach I would take is to understand exactly what the student's needs are and what they are struggling with the most. I am a strong believer in practice makes perfect, thus I would sit with the student and go through as many practice questions as possible in order to show patterns in different situations. I do not think memorization is what will help a student succeed in a subject like math, therefore, I believe that going through different practice problems and seeing the different approaches to solving problems is the best way to succeed.
I would go through the student's homework/book myself and see what questions are best suited to the student's needs. I would then recommend to the student to attempt at trying the problems before we meet to figure out what it is they know very well and what they are struggling with. When we meet, we can go through the problems they struggled with the most and then proceed to go through my approach in solving them.
